This is the actual garrsion built by Hannah Duston's husband and where she stayed after returning from her captivity. The volunteers are a mix of descendants and locals who are devoted to telling Hannah's story. Check out their Facebook page for events and hours.

rebecca nurse homestead - danvers, ma
The home of one of the many falsely accused women durin the Salem Witch Trials. This site offers an authentic view of the the time period and the events that occured in 1692. Far better than the tourist traps in Salem. Here's the website!

woodman museum- dover, nh
This museum is a blend of so many things - they have a solid gem and mineral collection, fossils, taxidermied animals, American history and so much more. The highlight for me is the Damm Garrison. Plan your visit by clicking here.

williamsburg, va
The entire area was wildly charming and the dedication to history is amazing. This is really like stepping back in time. In size it dwarfs other similar locations. The Govenor's Mansion is the bees kness and really transports you!

jamestown, va
If I was in Virginia for one day, I would run back to Jamestown. It was the coolest recreation I have ever seen - especially the Native American parts. I was blown away by every aspect. Put this on the top of your bucket list!

whitney plantation - wallace, la
Whitney Plantation is a true testament to the lives of the enslaved. They hold a space for the lives stolen and give integrity to the people who suffered there. If you can only go to one plantation in Louisiana, pick this one!

oak alley plantation - vacherie, la
Oak Alley is a remarkable example of a plantationhome. The views of the oak lined front yard, the wrap around balcony - really can't be beat but there is something somber about this location. When standing in the slave quarters, the house is ominous. When standing at the big house, the slave quarters are barely visible. It speaks volumes to the experience of those who lived there.
